Terms of Service

Last updated: May 19, 2026

1. What PlatePal is

PlatePal is a community messaging service that lets you send a polite note to the owner of a license plate or to neighbors on a given street. It is not a parking-enforcement service, a government tool, or a way to file an official complaint.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By signing up you confirm that the information you provide is yours and accurate.

3. Acceptable use

4. Content you submit

You are responsible for everything you send. We do not actively monitor messages, but we may review reports, remove content that violates these terms, or close accounts that are repeatedly abusive. You grant us the right to store and display your messages and feedback inside the service in order to operate it.

5. Reporting and moderation

If someone sends you something inappropriate, use the in-app "Report spam" button. Our admins will review reports and may block users, delete messages, or take other action at their discretion.

6. Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account at any time in Settings. We review requests within a reasonable timeframe and then permanently erase your account, plates, and outgoing messages. Messages you sent to others stay in their inbox with your name removed.

7. Service availability

PlatePal is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, deliverability of messages, or accuracy of plate registrations.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, PlatePal and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes

We may update these terms over time. If we do, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Continuing to use PlatePal after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Contact

Send questions or complaints via the Feedback tab inside the app, visit our contact page, or email [email protected].
